Barely 18 days after a potential tenant, Mr Adebisi Ojo has completed all the necessary agreements and fulfil financial charges to park into a new apartment in Ataaba community, Soka, Ibadan, his plans was dashed out by callous house agent who failed to remit payment to landlord.

The frustrated Adebisi was perplexed as phone number of the said agent, Marion Synord was not connecting and intermediary between Adebisi and Synord was disturbed by the attitude of his fellow house agent.

Adebisi while narrating his ordeal to FRESHPAGE said the landlord of the house confirmed that he knows Marion Synord, the house agent. Landlord confirmed to Adebisi that vacancy will exist in the house in December but Marion has not remitted house rent and as such he can’t park in.

The victim of the scam agent said he had collected receipt from Marion Synord after a sum of two hundred and sixty thousand naira (N260,000) was paid for annual rent of Room and Parlour self contain.

He said the money was paid into Marion’s wife bank account which was confirmed.

“When it looks like that I have been duped, the search for Marion began and we succeeded arresting him with the help security agent and his fellow house agent whom I had known for long, who linked me up with Marion. We bursted him in Aare Bodija, Ibadan. He could not account for the money and give reason why landlord was not paid. An insider said he invested my 260K in plantain chips business.

“He signed undertaking with the security agent that money will be paid to landlord while I will be allowed to park in within days”.
