Today, I join family, friends, associates and well-wishers to celebrate a trailblazing academic, Professor Olufunke Eunice Ola-Davies, FCVSN, the immediate past Dean of Veterinary Medicine, University of Ibadan. As the first female Professor of Veterinary Biochemistry in Nigeria and Africa, she has etched her name in history as a beacon of excellence and inspiration.

Her remarkable contributions to Veterinary Medicine are undeniable, with expertise in Molecular Biochemistry and Environmental Toxicology.

Her leadership as the Dean has left an indelible mark on the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, securing full accreditation and driving infrastructural development.

As the former Faculty Officer who worked with her at one point, I celebrate not only her academic achievements but also her kindness, thoughtfulness and commitment to nurturing future generations.
