Oyo State Deputy Governor Barrister Bayo Lawal has charged the State Muslim Pilgrim Welfare Board to ensure that the pilgrims from the state enjoy the best of treatments during their holy pilgrimage to Makkah and Madinah.

The Deputy Governor said this on Saturday while meeting the Chairman and Members of the State Pilgrim Welfare Board in his hotel after arriving at Makkah.

Barrister Lawal, who is also the Amir ul Hajj of the Oyo State contingent, enjoined the state Hajj officials to co-operate with one another and work selflessly to enable that the pilgrims enjoy their trip.

“I urge you to work selflessly without considering material gains. Your reward will come from Allah. You should strive to be on the good side of history by making your activities memorable and a reference point for future generations”.

Responding to the State Deputy Governor’s remarks, the Chairman of the State Muslim Pilgrim Welfare Board Professor Sayed Malik thanked the State Deputy Governor for donating a brand new power generating set for use at the State Hajj Camp in Olodo Ibadan.

Professor Malik also expressed gratitude to the State Government over the ongoing projects and facelifts being carried out at the State Hajj Camp in Ibadan.

Barrister Lawal, who was accompanied by a former First Lady of the State Alhaja Mutiat Ladoja, arrived Makkah on Friday afternoon and thereafter performed tawaf, the circumambulation of the Kabbah and the symbolic runs from Safa to Marwa in the holy city.

The Amir ul Hajj and his entourage prayed for the State and the nation as well as for the success of President Bola Tinubu and Governor Seyi Makinde in their aspirations to give good governance to the people.
