The Governor of Oyo State, His Excellency, Engr. Oluseyi Abiodun Makinde, FNSE will on Monday, 16 December 2024 join other eminent dignitaries as the Special Guest of Honour at the 2nd Anniversary celebrations of the Emmanuel Alayande University of Education, Oyo.
According to a release made available by the Media and Public Relations Officer, Wale Adeoye, the event will be held at the University 500-seater Lecture Theatre Hall, beside the University Sports Complex by 11a.m prompt.

The historic event, which will host crème de la crème from the society as guests, according to the release, will have the Vice-Chancellor, Abiola Ajimobi Technical University, Ibadan, Professor Adesola Ajayi delivering the 2nd Anniversary Lecture.
Quoting the Vice-Chancellor, Emmanuel Alayande University of Education, Oyo, Professor Olanrewaju Olaniyan, “we are excitedly looking forward to having the Visitor to our University and Oyo State Governor, His Excellency, Engr. Oluseyi Abiodun Makinde, FNSE on our campus on Monday, 16 December 2024. It is our dream to have His Excellency on our campus for him to see the progress we have made so far.
”The Governing Council, Senate, Staff, and Students are all looking forward to receiving the people’s Governor and all arrangements have been put in place. I therefore urge all members of the University community to be in attendance at this great anniversary. The Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of the Governing Council, Professor Ayoade Olayiwola Ogunkunle shall be the Chief Host at the event”.
It would be recalled that on Wednesday, March 17, 2021, The Executive Governor of Oyo State, Engr. Oluseyi Abiodun Makinde, in his dedicated efforts to revitalise the education system in Oyo State, made a momentous announcement where he declared the upgrade of the former Emmanuel Alayande College of Education to the status of a university. The significant move was aimed at advancing the educational landscape, most especially tertiary education in the state.
The University Act was signed into law on 5 December 2022 and on 16 December 2022, the Governor and Visitor to the University, Engr Oluseyi Makinde, FNSE was in the National University Commission (NUC) Office Abuja to receive the approval letter of the University.
