The Yoruba Youth Council (YYC) has extended warm felicitations to the Governments and good people of Oyo State, Ogun State and Ondo State as the three Southwest states mark their Golden Jubilee 50 years of creation, growth, and shared heritage.
In a statement signed by the President of the Council, Aare Alawode Rahmon Akintunde, and made available to newsmen in Ibadan, the YYC poured encomiums on the Governors of the three states, Engr. Seyi Makinde, Prince Dapo Abiodun and Chief Lucky Aiyedatiwa for what it described as remarkable developmental strides recorded across critical sectors, including infrastructure, education, youth empowerment, healthcare delivery, and economic expansion.
According to the statement, the 50th anniversary presents a moment of reflection on the resilience, unity, and progressive spirit of the Yoruba people, while also serving as a rallying point for renewed commitment to inclusive governance and sustainable development. The Council commended the administrations for prioritizing people-centered policies that continue to uplift communities and create opportunities for young people across the states.
Aare Alawode Rahmon Akintunde further emphasized that the Golden Jubilee is not only a celebration of the past but a charge to consolidate gains for the future. He called on stakeholders, government, private sector, civil society, and citizens to deepen collaboration in advancing regional integration, innovation, and peace.

The YYC President also used the opportunity to call for stronger support for the Traditional Institutions across the Southwest, noting their enduring role in preserving culture, promoting communal harmony, and complementing modern governance. The Yoruba Youth Council reaffirmed its commitment to partnering with state governments and traditional authorities to drive youth-focused initiatives and to ensure that the next decades deliver even greater prosperity for the people of Oyo, Ogun, and Ondo States.
