Government College, Ibadan (GCI) has benefitted Digital Nigeria Centre from Nigerian Communication Commission (NCC) courtesy of Prof. Adeolu Akande.
Prof. Adeolu Akande is the Chairman, Nigerian Communication Commission (NCC) and a 2023 gubernatorial hopeful in Oyo State.
The Digital Nigeria Centre (DNC) is a federal government programme aimed at improve learning and research by promoting the connection of government schools across Nigeria to broadband.
GCI will benefit among others, the provision of desktops,teacher laptops, reburfishment of ICT lab including electrical, mechanical and civil works,furniture for the ICT lab, providing of learning software, internnet access,solar energy and one year technical and maintainance support.
The programme is managed by the Universal Service Provider Fund(USPF) ,an arm of the NCC, established primarily to facilitate the achievement of national policy goals for universal access and universal service to Information and Communication Technologies in rural, unnserved and undeserved areas in Nigeria.
