It is no longer news that queues that returned to major fueling stations in Ibadan last week as a result of increase in pump price of PMS has catapulted to worsening situation on Monday, 29th April, as students, workers stranded in major motor parks due increase in transport fares.
FRESHPAGE observed that transporters increased the fares by 50 per cent in some routes while others increased beyond 50 per cent.
Passengers, motorists expressed their frustration for unpleasant situation that has brought untold hardship to residents.
A tricycle rider who spoke with FRESHPAGE said; “I’m tired of these fuel issues. I bought it for N1000 last night. I have to increase the transport fare. Passengers are complaining. And the sad part is, there is a limit to how we can increase the price so as not to go unreasonable.”

“I don’t even know what to say. Iwo Road to Mokola that we used to ride for N250 is now N400 this morning. And because of the stranded people, some are even saying it is N500. I don’t know how we want to calculate our daily transport fare with our meager earnings.” One of the stranded passengers reacts.
“You can see there are not many public buses on the road. It is because there is no fuel for them to work. If they have, the would have helped in reducing the stranded passengers struggling to get any means of transportation to their various places of work.” Parked bus driver.
