The Chairman of Tarauni Local Government Area of Kano State, Hon. Zakari Abubakar has sponsored one thousand (1,000) boys for free circumcision in his local government.
The exercise which came to an end on Tuesday began few weeks ago at the Hon. Muazzam Mainasara Primary Health Centre, Sallari in Tarauni local government.
Why speaking about the motive for sponsoring free circumcision for 1,000 boys in the his local government, Hon. Abubakar told BBC News Pidgin that the move was part of his role as a leader and father.
As part of effort to encourage other boys who are due for circumcision, Hon. Abubakar gave each circumcised boy two frozen chicken and a sum of one thousand naira (N1000) as gifts.
Apart from the chicken and N1,000 incentives, the local government chairman also gave the children candy sweet and promised to sustain the initiative for kids in his local government area.
