Ogbomoso born former commissioner for works in Oyo State, Prof. Raphael Afonja has dumped Christianity for Islam.
Prof. Afonja who served under the administration of Governor Seyi Makinde was seeing in viral video on Saturday that lasted for less than 2 minutes pronouncing Kalima Shahada that validated his conversion from Christian to Muslim.
The Chief Imam of Ogbomoso land, Sheik Talihat Yunus Ayilara conducted the conversion rite while the don of Physical Sciences adopted AbdurRahman as Muslim name.
FreshPage gathered that Kalima Shahada is the Islamic declaration of faith which can be translated to: “there is no god but Allah, and Muhammad is His messenger.”

The elated Chief Imam remarked that Raphael’s conversion to Islam is the success story he recorded since he was appointed as Chief Imam in November, 2021.
