It was a remarkable display of brilliance, confidence, and intellectual excellence as five exceptional students of Emmanuel Alayande University of Education, Oyo, emerged as the top scholars at the NUESA (Nigerian Universities Education Students’ Association) Teaching Competition, held on Tuesday, November 5, 2025.

The event, organized under the auspices of NUESA, sought to recognize and reward outstanding student-teachers who demonstrated exceptional mastery, teaching skills, and pedagogical intelligence qualities that define the next generation of educators shaping Nigeria’s future.

After a keenly contested round of teaching presentations and assessments, the following scholars distinguished themselves among thousands of participants:

1. Adetayo Ibukun – First Position (75%)

2. Muritala Selimot – Second Position (74%)

3. Adekunle Beloved – Third Position (73.5%)

4. Abdul Azeez Zainab – Fourth Position (73.5%)

5. Igbintade Asimonhu – Fifth Position (71%)

 

Each of these brilliant scholars received a cash prize in support of their academic journey, particularly toward their tuition fees. However, beyond the financial reward, their performance represents a beacon of hope for the teaching profession in Nigeria proving that Emmanuel Alayande University of Education is truly fulfilling its mandate of producing competent, world-class educators.

Speaking after the competition, Sen. Rasaq Hassan Alao (Merit), the President of NUESA, applauded the winners for their exceptional commitment and passion for teaching.


These students have shown that excellence is achievable through hard work, discipline, and focus. They are not just students; they are educators in the making the pride of NUESA and Emmanuel Alayande University of Education

He further encouraged other students to take inspiration from the winners and continue striving for academic and professional excellence.

The event ended on a joyful note, with loud ovations from colleagues and faculty members who commended the NUESA leadership for organizing a program that promotes quality education and practical teaching skills.

Indeed, NUESA has once again proven that education remains the light that dispels ignorance and these shining stars have shown the way forward.
