Two persons reportedly died and property worth millions of naira lost in an inferno that consumed part of residence of former governor of Oyo State, Otunba Christopher Adebayo Alao-Akala in Ogbomoso.

FreshPage gathered that the fire incident occured in the early hour of Monday at late Alao-Akala’s residence located in Randa, Ogbomoso.

The cause of the fire incident has not been ascertained as at the filing this report.

The extent of the damage has not been established but it was learnt that two people lost their lives in the incident.

An indigene of Ogbomoso who spoke Daily Post and asked not to be named, said that those who lost their lives were living in the house.

“I have been informed. Yes. The two people are those living in the house.

“I have called on of the people who are in the house and he has confirmed it to me. The inferno happened this morning,” the source said.

A source within the compound obtained by daily Post who begged not to be named, said that the inferno started around 7:50 am in the morning.

The source added that one of the victims died instantly while the other one gave up the ghost at Bowen Teaching Hospital, Ogbomoso, where she was rushed to for medical attention.
He identified one of the victims as Mr Jumo.

Daily Post correspondent gathered that political associates of the former governor and friends have been visiting the house to commiserate with the Alao- Akala family over the fire incident.
