Oyo State Government under the administration of Engr Seyi Makinde has charged Nigerians home and abroad to make 163 tourist sites in Oyo a point to explore when the need arises.
The government equally called for partnership from local and foreign investors in order to equip the sites with state of the art facilities.
The Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Information, Culture and Tourism, Mr. Oyedele Oyesola made this known during official visit to 52 staffers of the ministry to Oke-ogun zone of the state. The team visited Ado-Awaye suspended lake, home town of Bishop Ajayi Crowther, Osoogun the first African to translate Bible into Yoruba.
He said the trip was organised to visit some of the tourist sites in Oyo. He mentioned that the trip showcase the rich cultural heritage of Oyo State.
The Chairman, Araromi LCDA, Hon. Timothy Olugbade Ogunleke appreciated the visit of the delegation to the sites. He called on well meaning Nigerians to invest in the tourism sector.
The team also visited Alado of Ado-Awaye, Oba Ademola Folakanmi Makunledoye I, who appreciated the visitation of the team.
