Chief Sunday Adeyemo, widely known as Sunday Igboho, has firmly denied allegations made by Hajia Naja’atu Mohammed, a former director in President Bola Tinubu’s Presidential Campaign Council (PCC), suggesting that he enjoys unhindered freedom despite being wanted by the Federal Government.
The Yoruba Nation agitator made this known in a statement personally signed and released by Vanguard on Wednesday, he dismissed Mohammed’s claims as unfounded and misleading.
He asserted that her comments are part of a broader political agenda aimed at damaging the reputation of President Tinubu’s government by dragging him into controversial narratives.
“I am still on the wanted list of the Federal Government despite President Bola Tinubu now being in office,” Igboho stated, firmly countering the suggestion that he is free to move without restrictions in Nigeria.
Naja’atu Mohammed had previously criticized the government for not taking action against Igboho, questioning the discrepancy between his situation and that of Nnamdi Kanu, the detained leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB).

She also accused President Tinubu of neglecting the North, despite the region’s support during the 2023 general elections.
Igboho, in his response, criticized Mohammed’s comments as stemming from ignorance and ethnic bias.
He clarified that he is still unable to return to Nigeria due to a lingering arrest order initiated under the administration of former President Muhammadu Buhari.
“I currently travel with my German passport across Europe and other parts of the world, but I cannot return to Nigeria because I am still declared wanted by the security agencies,” he said, underlining his continued exile.

He recounted the events that led to his status as a wanted man, pointing to the violent raid on his Ibadan home on July 1, 2021.
According to him, the operation was carried out by operatives of the Department of State Services (DSS) and the Nigerian Army in an attempt to either apprehend or eliminate him.
The raid resulted in the deaths of two of his close associates and the arrest of 13 others.
He emphasized that his activism was motivated by genuine concerns over the safety and welfare of his people, stating, “My offense? I raised my voice against the unprovoked killings of farmers and the abuse of women by Fulani herders in South West communities.”
Further commenting on Nigeria’s political structure, Igboho highlighted a historical ethnic imbalance in the country’s leadership.
He noted that since independence, only two Yoruba individuals — Olusegun Obasanjo and Bola Tinubu — have served as presidents, which he sees as a reflection of broader marginalization.

Through his statement, Igboho sought to correct what he views as a deliberate misrepresentation of facts, distancing himself from any political ploy.
He made it clear that his ongoing exile is not due to any deal or leniency from the current administration but rather a result of unresolved issues from the previous government.
By addressing the accusations publicly, he aimed to clarify his position and underscore the continued threat to his freedom if he were to return to Nigeria.
