As part of his familiarization tour round his jurisdiction, the newly posted Divisional Police Officer, Ojogbondu Division, SP Akano Michael on Wednesday, 26 April, 2023 paid a courtesy visit to the Management of Emmanuel Alayande College of Education, Oyo.
The new DPO, who landed at the College around 3.30p.m was received by the College Acting Provost, Dr. Nelson Aderemi Oyewo and his Management team. The visit according to him was to familiarize himself with the community he was posted to serve. Speaking; “I am delighted to be here today as part of my familiarization exercise. For me, it is a home-coming as I once worked with the Atiba Police Division some years back giving me an understanding of the terrain here. While your College’s Main Campus is not directly under my purview, your mini- campus (Isokun) falls under my jurisdiction while most of your students live around. Putting these together, it becomes important for me to come here for us to know ourselves better for a productive and effective policing. I therefore call on the College authority to join me in the task of security our environment as I am ready to partner with you”.

Responding, the College helmsman, Dr. Aderemi Oyewo appreciated SP Akano Michael for taking out time to visit his office. According to the College Chief Executive, “I formally welcome you on behalf of the College Management to our College as the new DPO for Ojongbodu Police Division.
“Over time, our College has enjoyed robust relationships with the police authority. We undoubtedly see ourselves as partners, as security of lives and properties of staff, students and members of the College community remains very crucial to us as a management.
“I therefore, on behalf of the College Management, staff, students and members of the College Community assure your leadership of our full and unalloyed support towards having a peaceful and rancor-free society. May God work with you and for you in Jesus name”.
The DPO, SP Akano Michael was accompanied by INSP Ajisafe Akanbi and W/PC Bisola Ojewumi while the Ag. Provost was joined by Dr. (Mrs.) R. O. Owoade, Ag. Deputy Provost; Mrs. O. S. Asunmo, Ag. Registrar/Secretary to Council; Mr. E. O. Adegoke, Ag. Bursar and Dr. Wole Akinlabi, Dean, Student Affairs to receive the police team.
