The first female Vice Chancellor of Nigerian University, Prof. Grace Alele-Williams has reportedly died.

According to Sundry Media, Prof. Alele-Williams died at the age of 89. The Warri born scholar attended the Government School, Warri and proceeded to Queen’s College, Lagos.

Prof. Alele-Williams attended University College, Ibadan now University of Ibadan for his first degree in Mathematics.

She was appointed Professor of Mathematics at the University of Lagos in 1976 and became the first female Vice Chancellor, University of Benin (UNIBEN) from 1985 to 1992.

She was survived by children and grandchildren.
