The former governor of Zamfara State, Alhaji AbdulAziz Yari and former Senator from the State, Senator Kabiru Marafa have defected from the ruling All Progressives Congress APC, to Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.
The duo of Yari and Senator Marafa were received by former Senator President and presidential aspirant of the Peoples Democratic Party, Senator Bukola Saraki.
Yari was the governor of Zamfara State between 2011 to 2019, the same period Senator Marafa served in the state and became the Chairman Senate Committee on Petroleum (Downstream).
Their defection becomes necessary following the cross-carpeting of the sitting governor,Alhaji Bello Matawalle from PDP to APC.
