The Federal High Court, Osogbo on Friday nullified Osun State Local Government Elections conducted by Osun State Independent Electoral Commission (OSSIEC) on October 15, 2022.

Justice Ayo-Nathaniel Emmanuel declared elections as illegal, null and void. The Judge said the election was not conducted in consonance with Electoral Act of 2022.

Court orders the products (Kangaroo YES/NO LG Chairmen and Councillors) of the said election to vacate LG Secretariat/Offices with immediate effects.

Elections held in 30 LGAs and one area council in Osun State days after the incumbent Governor, Mr. Gboyega Oyetola lost gubernatorial election to Senator Ademola Adeleke of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP)
