In celebration of this year’s World Teachers Day, President Muhammadu Buhari has approved the long anticipated special salary scale for teachers and increase their years in service from 35 to 40.
Nigerian teachers have been agitating for better condition of service; salaries, increased retirement age and general welfare of staff.
The Minister of Education, Mallam Adamu Adamu who represented President Muhammadu Buhari at the 2020 World Teachers Day celebration in Abuja said implementation of the new teachers’ salary scheme was to encourage the teachers in delivering better services at producing competent secondary school graduates across nooks and crannies of the country.
