Angry youths and residents of Ibadan in hundreds trooped to the major roads in Ibadan to stage a peaceful protest over current economic hardship Nigerians are experiencing due to removal of fuel subsidy few months ago.

The protest which started at Mokola area of Ibadan, the state capital witnessed large turnout as youths registered their displeasure over the state of the economy with astronomical increase in food prices.

FreshPage observed that security operatives were stationed at the strategic places in Ibadan metropolis, in the hours of Monday to forestall possible breakdown of law and order.

protesters in the large numbers were seeing with placards with various inscriptions such ”End Hardship, Open Border”, ”We are hungry”, ”End Food Scarcity” among others.

Protesters moved from Mokola under bridge enroute Sango, to Samonda and Bodija Market.

The protest was peaceful as security men were on ground to prevent miscreants from hijacking it.
