Barely six days after Alhaji Atiku Abubakar picked N40million presidential nomination form of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), the former Vice President on Wednesday declared at the International Conference Centre, Abuja about his interest to contest for the office of president of Nigeria come 2023.

The former Vice President, Atiku declared his intention to run for president of Nigeria after constituting 324-man committee to realise his presidential ambition.

The committee which includes Contact and Mobilization, Protocol, Security and Intelligence, Media and Publicity among others.

Atiku has contested fives times; 1993, 2007, 2011, 2015 and 2019 for presidential ticket. He got the ticket twice while he lost out to represent his party on three different times. Out of the five attempt he made none gave him a presidential mandate. With his official declaration, he is aiming to contest for the sixth time if he gets the party ticket.

Atiku will contest the PDP presidential ticket with immediate Senate President, Dr. Abubakar Bukola Saraki, Sokoto State Governor, Alhaji Aminu Tambuwal, Mr. Dele Momodu of Ovation magazine and other contenders for the ticket.

Present at the formal declaration of the Atiku were PDP stakeholders across the 36 states in Nigeria.
