On this special day, I celebrate a distinguished son of Ibadanland, Oloye Abdulahi Abiola Alli, whose remarkable achievements span academia, banking, accounting and community service. Born to the late Alhaji and Mama Alli Balogun of Ile Olofiere, Mapo, Ibadan, over six decades ago, Oloye Abiola Alli personifies excellence and dedication.

His academic and professional distinctions include a Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Banking and Finance, a Master’s Degree in Business Administration (MBA), Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria (CIBN) and Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN).

Oloye Alli’s meritorious service includes roles at
the Cooperative Bank (1985-1990), Supervisor at the Trans International Bank (1990-2001), Assistant Manager at the Universal Trust Bank (2002-2005), Regional Manager (S/W) at the First City Monument Bank (2006-2014) and Zonal Head of the Ibadan Region and Metropolitan Broadcasting Services Limited (2017-2022) as the General Manager.

For leadership and board appointments, he is the Non-Executive Director, Seedvest Microfinance Bank Limited (2016 to date); Treasurer, Ibadan Chambers of Commerce, Industry, Mines & Agriculture; Chairman, Public Policy Advocacy (2016 to date); and Chairman/CEO, FFP Global Investment & Resources Ltd. Banking, Accounting, Broadcasting, Consultancy (offices in Ibadan, Lagos, and Abuja).

For Alli’s community impact and chieftaincy titles, he is the Chairman of the 2025 Ibadan Cultural Festival Planning Committee and President of the Omo Ajorosun Club, Ibadan (2022-2023). Seriki Adini, Yemetu Muslim Community, Oluomo of Awotan Orisun (2023), Jagunmolu of Abidiodan (2022) and Apesinola of Irokoland (2022). He has over 51 awards recognising his contributions.

For thought leadership and interest in national affairs, Alli is a regular commentator on finance/economy on TV/radio and hobbies include reading, travelling and high-profile football.

As Oloye Abiola Alli celebrates another year, I acknowledge his profound impact on Ibadanland, Nigeria’s financial sector and beyond. May his example inspire generations.
