Residents of Ipetumodu can’t predict correctly when the new Apetu of Ipetumodu will emerge following the alleged disappearance of crown, beads and other paraphernalia at the palace Oba Joseph Oloyede who is serving jail term for $4.2million COVID-19 in United States.
FreshPage reports that Oba Oloyede was sentenced to 56 months imprisonment by U.S District judge, Christopher A. boyko two weeks ago.
Sources obtained by the Nation said the disappearance of the ancient Aare crown and some royal beads at the palace have been linked to aides and loyalists of the monarch.

A chieftain from one of the leading ruling houses who spoke with the Nation said disappearance of the items portend a grave dilemma for Ipetumodu whenever the need arises for the enthronement of a new monarch to replace Oloyede.

“We are bothered now that he is jailed and the traditional crowns, beads and other royal paraphernalia have been carted away. Initially, they were in the custody of Oba Oloyede, who had demolished the palace when he emerged. He relocated all the ancient royal instruments to his personal house. But we can’t find them now. Government should help us”.
