Alaafin To Install Tech-U Governing Council Chair, Adesola Kazeem Adeduntan As Balogun of Oyo Land

The Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Abimbola Akeem Owoade, is set to install Chairman, Governing Council of Abiola Ajimobi Technical University and former First Bank of Nigeria Managing Director, Adesola Kazeem Adeduntan, as the new Balogun of Oyo land.

Following the decision of Oba Owoade, Adeduntan will assume a revered title previously held by former Governor of Oyo State and distinguished scholar from Ibadan, late Dr Victor Sowemimo Omololu Olunloyo.

The much anticipated event will hold in July, 2026 where Adeduntan will be formally installed as the Balogun of Oyo land by Alaafin of Oyo.

Adeduntan, an Alumnus of the University of Ibadan was conferred with an honourary Doctor of Science degree at the 77^th Foundation Day Anniversary & 2025 Convocation Ceremonies of the institution.

For Adeduntan, an Ibadan-born technocrat from a respected Yoruba trading lineage, the installation represents more than a conferment of title. It is a symbolic homecoming, a transition from the transient influence of corporate leadership to the enduring legacy and authority embedded within traditional institutions.
