Following the death of Oba Lamidi Olayiwola Adeyemi III which makes Alaafin stool vacant, about 20 princes from Owoade family have signified interest to become 46th Alaafin of Oyo.
FRESHPAGE gathered that Owoade Family is one the two ruling families from Agunloye Ruling House.
Prince Adediwura Owoade, Mogaji of Owoade Family while speaking with The Punch said the interested members of family in the exalted stool are already putting down their names and curriculum vitae which would be screened by appointed Vice Chancellor of a University.
“After the screening, Owoade Family would present best applicants to Oyo Mesi for further screening. Our family has been cheated for long but we are better position to ensure one our princes ascend the throne.
“All the 20 princes jostling to become Alaafin are my children. I want to assure everyone that whosoever picked from Owoade family will work for the growth and development of Oyo town”.
