The Senator representing Oyo Central Senatorial District, Senator Yunus Akintunde, has commended the leadership and members of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Oyo State Chapter, for the successful conduct of the party’s State Congress held at Liberty Stadium.

Speaking with journalists at the venue of the Congress, Senator Akintunde expressed satisfaction with the peaceful and rancour-free exercise, describing it as a clear demonstration of the party’s internal cohesion, maturity, and strong organisational capacity.

The lawmaker also congratulated the newly constituted State Executive Council of the party, particularly Chief Adeyemo Alake, who emerged as the State Chairman, alongside other elected executive officers.

According to him, “With the rancour-free and peaceful conduct of our congresses at the ward and Local Government levels, culminating in this successful State Congress, our great party, the APC, has once again demonstrated uncommon capacity for effective organisation, excellent strategic coordination, and synergetic collaboration that will guarantee successful outings in future elections.”

Senator Akintunde described Chief Alake as a seasoned politician, highly respected statesman, and former Deputy Governor whose emergence as Chairman inspires confidence among party faithful.

“I am extremely delighted to witness the successful conduct of this Congress and the emergence of Chief Adeyemo Alake as Chairman. His leadership, alongside other elected executive members, reassures us that our party is firmly on the right trajectory as we consolidate on our winning strategy towards the 2027 general elections and other future political engagements at all levels,” he concluded.

The Senator reaffirmed his commitment to working collaboratively with the new State Executive to strengthen the party’s structures and enhance its electoral prospects across Oyo State.
