Members of Adifase community have expressed their satisfaction and appreciation to Senator Rilwan Adesoji Akanbi for building a block of 5 classrooms with VIP toilets and borehole at Adifase High School, Apata, Ibadan.
FreshPage gathered that the community made a request for construction of classrooms in Adifase and sinking of borehole project from Senator Akanbi in 2019.
Okanlomo of Ibadanland who wasn’t comfortable with the situation in school with dilapidated classrooms took it upon himself to give the school a deserving facelift. The constructed classrooms were furnished with chairs, desks and ceiling fans among others.
The borehole constructed by Senator Akanbi which was serving the school and the entire community got spoiled recently.
While hosting the representatives of the community, Senator Akanbi said: “at the inauguration of the project, I told them if any of our projects got spoiled, the host community should deem it fit to reach out to us. Adifase community did so and I responded by repairing the borehole in order to continue serving the purpose it was built for”.
The leaders of Adifase-Apata community led by Pa Muritala Agbomeji and Mr. Murphy Sanni said; “It gladdens our heart that someone who is not holding political office could come to our rescue in Adifase-Apata community bearing it in mind that portable water and conducive classrooms in Adifase community remain our major challenges. Senator Akanbi’s humanitarian act is unparalleled among his peers.
“We are happy about the role Senator Akanbi played in reviving railway in Nigeria, airport remodeling and resuscitation of Methodist Primary School, Agbeni with capacity of over 600 pupils”.
While reacting after the appreciation message by Pa Agbomeji on behalf of Adifase-Apata community, Senator Akanbi said; “Ordinarily, I would have turned it down when I got notification that the community leaders plan to visit me but that could be an insult to elders in the community.
“My take home for leaders of Adifase-Apata community is that; the Ibadan-Kano railway standard gauge will start immediately. It has secured approval for commencement few hours ago. Let me also inform you that without Lagos-Ibadan standard railway gauge, there won’t be present project linking Ibadan to Kano. Due to traffic at the railway station, the government has increased daily trip to six.
“Let me reiterate that elections is coming, please open your eyes, vote those that have good track record. People should vote those that can deliver so that they won’t wait for another four years to make new choice”.
