Chief Adebayo Adelabu, Honourable Minister of Power, has donated 40 poles of solar powered street lights to the University of Ibadan.

The poles and fittings were brought to the University by one of the aides of the Minister, Mr Femi Awogboro, who said the donation was made because the minister was passionate about ensuring that the campuses of tertiary institutions were well lit.

He disclosed that another set of the poles would be donated to The Polytechnic, Ibadan.

The Deputy Vice-Chancellor Administration , Professor Peter O. Olapegba, FNPA, fspsp, while receiving the donation, commended the minister of power for his passionate commitment to turning the power sector around.

He said the thoughtfulness of the minister will no doubt help lighten up some dark areas of the University campus, thus making life easier at night.

He assured that the poles would be strategically sited, adding that some would be taken to the College of Medicine.
