The Governing Council of Achievers University, Owo, Ondo State, has announced the appointment of Professor Oyesoji Aremu of University of Ibadan as the Deputy Vice Chancellor (Academic).
In a letter of appointment signed by the Registrar and Secretary to Council, Rev. Cannon S. B. Oladimeji, Prof. Oyesoji is expected to resume on April 2, 2024.
Aremu is of the Department of Counselling and Human Development Studies of the premier university.

He is a popular security scholar and analyst.
The professor has held many academic leadership roles.
He won the prestigious Commonwealth Fellowship as a Lecturer Grade I between 2007 and 2008 and was a visiting Commonwealth Fellow at the Institute of Criminal Justice Studies, University of Portsmouth, United Kingdom. He is a fellow of many professional associations and bodies in Nigeria and abroad.
Prof. Aremu was the acting Director, Centre for Open Distance and eLearning, Osun State University. He is a Member, University of Ilesa Review Committee, March to May, 2023, Chairman, Osun State Education Summit, July to September, 2023; and former Director, Distance Learning Centre, UI.
He was also a Visiting Professor, Open, Distance and eLearning, Osun State University, Osogbo.
