Re: Court’s remand of Oyo Monarch and 14 others at Abolongo Prison over land grabbing

The attention of the Oloko of Oko palace of HRM Ọba Solomon Olagoke Adisa Akinola Oyeyode III has been drawn to a story released by some online bloggers about remanding Oloko of Oko Kingdom along side 14 others at Abolongo prison over land grabbing.

It’s very disheartening and ridiculous for such news handlers to have embarked on such a frivolous and debilitating act all in a bid to discredit and defame the occupant and the stool of Oloko in particular without verifying and following up the story.

The Oloko of Oko Kingdom HRM Ọba Solomon Olagoke Adisa Akinola Oyeyode III is a monarch of class who will never venture or trade on the corridor of shame regardless of any attributed gain. The palace spokesman, Prince Babatunde Muibudeen hereby warns those behind such a dastardly act to stop playing to the gallery of mischievous elements who are out to defame the long built repute of Oba Olagoke and the stool in particular.

Most of these online blogger handlers failed to professionally confirm and verify the real matter before spreading it across the Globe.

There is a land matter between Oloko of Okoland and a village called Aagba both in Surulere Local Government, Oyo State for almost ninety-one (91) years ago and the case is currently pending before the Supreme Court sitting in Abuja and the case was adjourned to 11th day of November, 2024 for defense.

Upon the future adjournment, the purchaser of almost twenty-seven (27) villages, Mr. Issac Abiodun of Tropical Culture Nig. LTD who personally bought land from Head of Aagba village during the pendency of the case in Court of Appeal (1st appeal) sitting in Ibadan in 2011 spotted the villages around May, 2021, September, 2021 and Mach, 2023 to bulldoze the farmlands (cashew, cocoa, kola, yam, maize, groundnut, vegetables etc) and demolish the buildings of habitants of the villages where their forefathers lived for centuries ago. This is also pending before the Federal High Court, Ibadan and Supreme Court of Justice, Abuja. Not only that but also Mr. Issac Abiodun sued Oba Solomon Olagoke Adisa Akinola Oyeyode III, the Oloko of Okoland and other 14 occupants of those villages for criminal case of assault, stealing, trespassing and some other allegations which the Ogbomoso High Court opened the matter on 7th of November, 2023.

In distillation, neither Oba Solomon Akinola nor 14 others were remanded in Abolongo Correctional Centre, Oyo on Thursday, 23rd of November, 2023 as some online bloggers broadcasted it. Though, the Ogbomoso High Court 2 Judge, Justice K.A Adedokun initially gave a ruling to remand the 15 defendants in Abolongo Correctional Centre, Oyo with a view to ruling on their bail on Monday, 27th of November, 2023 before the ruling was immediately reversed on Thursday, 23rd of November, 2023.

Oba Solomon Akinola is presently in his Traditional Palace, Oko, Surulere Local Government, Oyo State where he receives and entertains visitors.

Therefore, all online bloggers are strongly warned and advised to verify the authenticity of the information so as to avoid fake news which can defame one’s long reputation or cause the breach of peace.

Therefore, the palace spokesman urges the public and the residents of Oko Kingdom in particular to disregard the news as it has no connection with the occupant of the stool and that insideoyo news, Newspeak, Daily post Nigeria and other online news handlers completely proved privy about the real situation.
