Oyo State Governor, Engr Seyi Makinde will on Monday evening host leaders, political gladiators and stakeholders in Oyo State People’s Democratic Party, PDP after 2027 general elections after failed reunion with Minister of FCT, Nyesom Wike led faction of the PDP.
A source in the party confirmed the intention of the Governor Makinde to engage stakeholders as 2027 general elections draw closer.
The source noted that leading the priority of the closed-door meeting is the ongoing governorship aspirants screening exercise and the other strategies the party can adopt to emerge victorious in 2027 general elections.
FreshPage gathered that Amofin Beulah Adeoye, Hon. Stanley Dhikrullah Odidiomo, Dr Debo Akande, Dr Nureni Adediran, Mr. Bimbo Adekanmbi among others have appeared before Chairman of the Screening Committee for governorship aspirants.
FreshPage recalls that the crisis facing the PDP has been unprecedented among the political gladiators in the G-5 that have previously worked for the President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in 2023.
Following the upturn of the November 2025 National Convention held in Ibadan by Abuja court, the Governor Makinde faction and Wike faction have not settled political scores.
There are indications that Governor Makinde is considering alternative following his political romance with former governor of Kano and Bayelsa states; Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso and Seriake Dickson.
