The Senator representing Oyo Central Senatorial District, Dr Yunus Abiodun Akintunde has sent felicitations to Nigerians and assured all and sundry of more prosperous years ahead.
In his 2024 new year goodwill message released by Kunle Olatunji, his Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Distinguished Senator Akintunde while appreciating the perseverance, resilience and positive attitudes of Nigerians assured them of better times ahead as the present administration under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu rolls out strategic plans to improve the economy and invariably living standards of average Nigerians.
While receiving visitors at various functions at his residences in Abuja, Ibadan, Oyo town and also visiting party faithful across the Oyo Central Senatorial District and some other parts of the State, he commended the trust and confidence of Nigerians in the present administration despite the global challenge of economic crisis.
He further emphasized that as a notable stakeholder with legislative representation and with the advantage of insightful appreciation of the efforts of the current leadership of the country, he is quite confident and optimistic that there will soon be noticeable improvements in the economy of Nigeria as a fast developing nation.
He also noted with enthusiasm, the commitment of the leadership of the government at all levels irrespective of party leanings to upscale the Nigeria economic system in all ramifications.
Akintunde said, many of the several legislations and contents of the blue prints of the President Bola Ahmed Tinubu led administration and government will begin to yield positive results in the next few months.

While featuring on Periscope, a political programe on Jamz FM Ibadan, earlier on the eve of the passing year, Senator Akintunde expressed his sincere appreciation to the people of Oyo Central Senatorial District for their overwhelming support since his election as the Senator representing them at the Red Chamber of the National Assembly, Abuja.
As a benevolent leader by nature, Senator Akintunde has further assured Nigerians, especially Oyo State indigenes and the good people of Oyo Central Senatorial District to expect more in his commitment to exceptional and quality representation in his capacity as a notable member of the present Senate.
Senator Akintunde who is the Chairman of Senate Committee on Environment, Deputy Chairman of Senate Committee on Police Affairs is also a member of several other Committees at the Nigerian Senate.
Dr Akintunde recently announced several appointments of aides including, Special Assistants, community relations coordinators, Liason officers across the eleven (11) Local Government Areas (LGAs) within Oyo Central Senatorial District.
The mood of the citizenry beyond party affiliations across the entire Oyo State and especially within Oyo Central Senatorial District which he represents at the Senate is simply electrifying as jubilations, felicitation and accolades in appreciation of his good nature and benevolence fill the air in the mood of end of the year 2023 and 2024 new year festivities.
He further assured that beyond his commitment to quality representation and exceptional service delivery in his legislative duties, he will ensure that he sustains steady collaboration with the Executive arm of government to actualize his commitment towards infrastructure and human capacity development across the Nation and with special focus on Oyo State and Oyo Central senatorial district which he represents.
Within the few months of the inauguration of the present 10th Senate even as a first timer, Senator Akintunde has moved and secured passage of several motions, notable is the motion against increment of electricity tariffs, upgrade of Federal College of Special Education (FCE,S), Oyo to a University status awarding University diploma and higher degrees within the Nigeria academic threshold.
He has also influenced several Federal government intervention initiatives on human capacity development for artisans, attracting SME funding schemes and employment opportunities for several indigenes of his Oyo Central senatorial district while also securing the approval of about N1.5B Naira for the construction of 17km asphalt road at Oluyole local government area among several notable achievements.
He prayed for long life, good health and peace for the nation and the leadership at all levels such that the new year will be the beginning of greater achievements collectively as a nation and individually in various endeavours of the citizenry.
