Governor of Oyo state, Seyi Makinde has presented a budget proposal of 434.2billion naira to the Oyo State Assembly for approval.
The Budget according to the governor is Titled “Oyo State Budget of Economic Recovery,”
Education sector has the highest allocation with a sum 90.6 billion naira representing 20.8 percent of the total budget.
Governor Makinde revealed that the increased funding in education aims to safeguard schools and the future of children in the state through innovative measures.
Infrastructure receives 17.11 percent of the total budget, with a dedicated allocation of 74.3 billion naira, while Health is allocated 40.9 billion naira, representing 9.11 percent of the total budget.
Governor Makinde pledges to enhance the budget performance by leveraging technology to close loopholes. He also emphasizes focused attention on the mining sector to boost the state’s internally generated revenue.
