Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the national leader of the ruling Party, All Progressives Congress, APC on Sunday visited Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Lamidi Olayiwola Adeyemi III as part of his consultation move to achieve presidential bid come 2023.
Tinubu was welcomed to the ancient city by teeming supporters of the party and members of the South West Agenda SWAGA ’23.
While speaking at the palace, Tinubu said South West is well represented in the administration of President Muhammadu Buhari. He stressed that the region have Vice President, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo, Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila, Babatunde Raji Fashola, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola and Mr. Sunday Dare and others.
Tinubu reiterated that Kabiyesi has been his adviser for years without hiding the truth from him.
“I’ve come here today to tell you that I need your cooperation, blessings and prayer on my ambition to become the president of Nigeria”.
Alaafin stressed that Tinubu became the first presidential hopeful to visit him and he has offered him prayers that his desire to become president with scale through.
“You the youths, I pray for you, you too will grow up and become elders. You too will become President but before you become President, I will do mine first, then you will come after mine”. Asiwaju added.
