The Osi Bashorun Of Ibadanland, Chief Dr Azeez Popoola Adeduntan has joined prominent indigenes of Ibadanland and oyo state in general to mourn the passing of Bobajiro of Ibadanland and former permanent Secretary in the ministry of agriculture and finance in the old western region.
Chief Dr Adeduntan in a statement on Monday through his media office said he was highly saddened by the news of the demise of the statesman and outstanding permanent secretary of his time.
“We will remember him as one of this country’s greatest permanent secretaries and his immense contribution to the development of Ibadanland as a honorary chief and also to Oyo State “.
He garnered respect that transcended our barriers -visible and otherwise. His enormous contributions to the welfare of the people of his community, our dear state and the nation will surely inspire future generations of Ibadanland, Oyo
State and the nation.
“On behalf of my family and teeming supporters, I extend my heartfelt sympathies and condolences to the Akinyele’s family, His Imperial Majesty and my father, Oba Saliu Adetunji, Aje Oguguniso 1, the Olubadan of Ibadanland and the people of Ibadanland. May the soul of Pa Theophilus Akinyele rest in peace”.
