The race over who gets All Progressives Congress (APC) ticket thickens as Vice President, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo disclosed his intention to contest for party’s ticket in the primary elections scheduled for next month.
Prof. Osinbajo informed 10 APC governors in Abuja on Sunday when he played a host of them for iftar to break fast during the month of Ramadan.
Prof. Osinbajo said he had informed President Muhammadu Bihari about his interest in 2023 presidential ambition.
He will declare formally on Monday through a video that will be circulated across social media platforms.
Chairman, Progressives Governors Forum, Abubakar Bagudu of Kebbi State, Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, Osun State Governor, Gboyega Oyetola, Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai were among governors present.
His intention to contest came after the National Leader of APC, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Dave Umahi of Ebonyi, Rochas Okorocha and Rotimi Amaechi have declared for the race.
