Oyo State Governor, Engr Seyi Makinde and former governor of Ekiti State, Mr. Ayodele Fayose on Sunday met with otherĀ South West leaders of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ibadan.
The outcome of cannot be disconnected from scheming and permutations ahead of 2023 general elections.
FRESHPAGE.COM.NG understand that Governor Makinde and other PDP leaders from South West are not happy with structure of PDP at the national level despite resignation of Walid Jubril as the Chairman Board of Trustees which gives room for Adolphus Wabara to step in as BoT Chairman.
This newspaper observed that the body language of Oyo Governor, Engr Makinde is not in full support of his party’s presidential candidate, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar.
Makinde, Wike, Ikpeazu, Ortom among other major stakeholders of the PDP have been calling for resignation of the National Chairman of the party, Dr Iyorchia Ayu since Alhaji Atiku emerged as the presidential standard bearer of the party.
Present at the closed door meeting with Makinde and Fayose according to Mr. Lere Olayinka were Mr. Soji Adagunodo (PDP National Vice Chairman Southwest), Dr Sikirulai Ogundele (Ogun State PDP Chairman), Hon Lanre Omolase (Ekiti PDP Acting Chairman) and others.
