The leaders of Ibadan Progressive Marketers Association (IPMA) have visited Senator Rilwan Adesoji Akanbi to commend him for his consistency in supporting the marketers with financial resources and infrastructural projects towards development of markets in Ibadan.
The IPMA executive were led by its President, Alhaji Waheed Atolase Orogun and Secretary, Mr. Hammed Sulaiman. They recalled how Senator Akanbi facilitated a sum of One Hundred Million (N100,000,000) Business Cash Grant where ten major markets benefitted from the scheme.
Another member of Ibadan Progressive Marketers reminisced how Senator Akanbi provided cash support for 42 markets in Ibadan under Rilwan Adesoji Akanbi Foundation (RAAF) to assist their members who were short of capital to expand and reap the benefits of buying and selling in large quantity.
Among the markets that benefitted from the cash support under RAAF were; Labaowo market, Ogunpa market, Araromi Spare Parts Market ,Food Sellers Association, Bodija Plank Market among others.

“Soji Akanbi’s contribution through facilitating borehole, streetlights aided the safe and clean environment in our markets in Ibadan. Before Akanbi came on board as Oyo South Senator, no politician remember us like Senator Akanbi did.
“Initially, we thought all politicians are deceivers because they don’t keep and fulfil promise. Senator Akanbi has changed our perception with his outstanding performance as lawmaker with face humanity.

“We wish he contests again and count on our support and that of our families as 2023 general elections draw closer. We will support him and campaign for him as soon as he signifies the position he will contest for”.
FreshPage gathered that Senator Akanbi facilitated remodeling of Alakia Airport, Ibadan, sponsored over 500 beneficiaries in skill acquisition, facilitated rural electrification project in Ibarapa East, donated and installed 500KVA transformer at Ajanla among others.
