The Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) has completed a five day training programme for lecturers and staff of the new established Federal Polytechnic, Ayede, Ogbomosho.

The training was undertaken by the Digital Bridge Institute(DBI), an arm of the NCC established to provide digital education for Nigerians.

Under the NCC Advanced Digital Appreciation Programme for Tertiary Institutions ( ADAPTI), the Commission trains thousands of Nigerians in the quest to raise a population of Nigerians who can be productively engaged in the digital economy. Thousands of staff of tertiary institutions have benefited from the programme.

The five-day training program that took place between the 16th and 20th of April 2023 featured , among others, practical sessions on cyber security, Microsoft PowerPoint, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and internet exploration

The training involved 100 members of staff selected from various departments of the new institution.

The staff filled with excitement to be part of the training considered themselves fortunate to be part of pioneer trainees for such quality training in the history of the institution as they expressed their gratitude to management and the commission for the opportunity

At the opening ceremony, the Polytechnic through the chairman of her Governing Council, Prof Dakas J Dakas , the management led by Rector of the Polytechnic, Engr ( Dr) Taofeeq Abdul Hameed and the entire staff were full of appreciation to Prof Adeolu Akande , the Chairman of the NCC who facilitated the programme and the President of DBI , Dr Muhammad Ajiya for considering the school worthy of the priceless programme while promising to put the training into best use in serving the nation through the Polytechnic.

The training that took place at the Polytechnic computer centre at Oke Owode Ogbomoso was wrapped up on Thursday, 20th of April, 2023, with a presentation of certificates to all participants
