I have read Prince Dotun Oyelade’s press statement titled ” Stop Calling me, I’m Priceless” and up till now, I have not made any sense out of the highly sensationalized, but needless self aggrandizement.

Prince Dotun Oyelade is someone that I am bound to respect because of our working relationship under the late former Governor Adebayo Alao Akala.
However, just as I am bound to respect him as a result of our bond during the Akala days, I am equally bound to defend the integrity of Barr. Yemi Aderibigbe, Hon. Sina Alabi, who were also my Oga at the time, until now.
I am equally bound to respect and defend the integrity of my Egbon, Sola Ogunbode whom I have known for years.
Like I said, I have gone through the press statement by Prince Dotun Oyelade and I see a great deal of mischief in the contents of the Press Release.
Prince Oyelade, who is currently the Commissioner for information under the Seyi Makinde Administration claims that he received ” a phone call” from Barr. Yemi Aderibigbe, who is the Director-general of the Senator Sarafadeen Abiodun Alli Gubernatorial campaign council, but he lumped two other names into the single phone call.
Now, I have a problem with that, because, Prince Oyelade referenced a single phone call put through to him by Barr. Yemi Aderibigbe last Thursday.
It would have been reasonable and sensible if Prince Oyelade had stopped at that, without bringing two other individuals, Egbon Sola Ogunbode and Hon. Sina Alabi into the single phone call conversation.
Not only that, Prince Dotun Oyelade claimed that those who called him merely requested to meet with him for an urgent discussion.
Therefore, those who called him, discussed nothing with him during the phone call, except to request for a meeting to discuss ” an important issue”.
You will now wonder, how did Prince Oyelade come about the whole story about the intention by the trio to ” buy him over to the All Progressives Congress, APC”?
The accusations leveled against Barr. Yemi Aderibigbe, Egbon Sola Ogunbode and Hon. Sina Alabi is not only premature, it is also hypocritical.
I am not awar that Prince Dotun Oyelade has become a Prophet who possesses the ability to see through people’s minds, most especially, during a telephone conversation.
That Press statement by Prince Oyelade is also not only shallow, it also lacks merits.
The fact that he brought a private telephone conversation, which only sought to request an invitation for a discussion, into the public domain is, with due respect, childish.
It is not like the trio had asked you to come and join the APC. You just assumed that they want to buy you over to the APC, just because, you claimed they requested to have an important discussion with you!
With due respect to Prince Oyelade, I do not know why anyone would desperately want him to join up with them for political reasons.
Prince Oyelade is never known for being a grassroots politician who commands a political following.
With utmost respect to him, he lacks both electoral and political values.
So, why would anyone wish to spend money to buy such an individual to their side?
This vague and theatrical attempt could also be interpreted to mean that Prince Dotun Oyelade is looking for attention and patronage, having realized that the Makinde Government is winding up and indices are pointing to a Sarafadeen Abiodun Alli’s Governorship in 2027.
We are getting used to the shenanigans of the Allied People’s Movement, APM on a daily basis and we take solace in the fact that we will soon be rid of their tragicomedy.
Sola Abegunde.
