The Bishop of Ibadan North Anglican Diocese and the Archbishop of Ecclesiastical Province of Ibadan, His Grace, the Most Rev’d (Dr) Williams Oluwarotimi Aladekugbe called on Christians to join the political parties of their choice to save our dear country from the present precarious situations is passing through.

The call was contained in the press release issued and signed by the Diocesan Communicator, Chief Ayoade Solomon Olugbemiga during the Joint Women’s Organization Annual Conference Thanksgiving at the Cathedral of St. Peter Aremo, Ibadan on Sunday
Further more, Archbishop Aladekugbe enjoined Christians to join politics to sanitize the system and restore Nigerians hope and glory in having Nigeria of our dreams
Referring the congregation to Luke 7:11-17,Heb 3:5,, John 1:15 and Proverb24:10, the preacher emphasized that in line the theme of the conference, truly Jesus is the hope of hopeless, adding that in the face of instability in all facets of life in Nigeria such as politics, security, economy, marriages, employment , we should all put our hope and trust in Jesus alone who is ready to meet all our needs
“Nigerians are suffering in the midst of plenty because of the jnsensitivity of our leaders at various levels, greediness corruption, and self centeredness which are unacceptable to God and man”, the Clergy further stressed
He reminded Nigerians that Nigeria is a secular country, consequently ,there is no State religion, every Nigerian is free to observe the religion of his choice without intimidation, harassment, discrimination, persecution and in the distribution of political positions and enjoyment of dividends of democracy
The Conference Thanksgiving service was attended by personalities from all walks of life such as clergies and their wives, members of Diocesan women organisations, traditional rulers, politicians and traders among others
