The Egbe Iyalode in Oluyole Local Government Area of Oyo State has paid a courtesy visit to the Okanlomo Oodua and Gbonka Olubadan of Ibadanland, Chief (Engr.) Jubril Dotun Sanusi, declaring its support for the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the election of Senator Sharafadeen Alli as Governor of Oyo State in the 2027 general elections.
The women, under the leadership of Yeye Omotayo Adekunbi Adebisi, gathered with community stakeholders to pray for the success, peace and progress of Nigeria and Oyo State, while expressing their commitment to mobilising support for the All Progressives Congress (APC) and its candidates ahead of the 2027 elections.
Senator Sharafadeen Alli is the APC’s governorship candidate for Oyo State in the 2027 election, following his emergence and subsequent unveiling by the party.
During the meeting, the Egbe Iyalode also acknowledged the philanthropic interventions and community-oriented initiatives of Chief Jubril Dotun Sanusi, commending his contributions to the welfare and development of people across communities.
Yeye Akinola, who spoke on behalf of the women, expressed appreciation for Sanusi’s continued support for grassroots development, describing his humanitarian gestures as worthy of recognition and prayers.
The women offered prayers for greater elevation, good health, wisdom and continued success for Chief Jubril Dotun Sanusi, while urging him to sustain his support for communities and vulnerable groups.
The gathering also provided an opportunity for the women to reaffirm their interest in participating actively in grassroots political engagement ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The meeting was witnessed by the Baale of Ode Ige in Oluyole Local Government Area, alongside other community stakeholders.
The Egbe Iyalode further called for unity, peaceful political participation and greater inclusion of women in grassroots mobilisation and community development as the 2027 elections approach.
The gathering ended with prayers for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Senator Sharafadeen Alli and other APC candidates, as well as prayers for peace, progress and prosperity in Oyo State and Nigeria.
