The Okanlomo Oodua and Gbonka Olubadan of Ibadanland, Chief (Engr.) Jubril Dotun Sanusi, has fulfilled his promise to provide 100 solar-powered streetlights for communities across Ibadan South East Local Government Area of Oyo State.

The streetlights were delivered on Friday for distribution across communities in the local government, following a commitment made by Sanusi during a recent courtesy visit by the leadership of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Ibadan South East.
The APC delegation was led by Alhaji Mufutau Adisa Gbayawu, alongside Alhaji Wasiu Ajimobi, Hon. Akeem Olatunji and the party’s federal and state representative candidates.
During the meeting, Sanusi expressed his appreciation for the visit and emphasised his ancestral connection to Ibadan South East.
“Your visit is welcome, as my lineage is from Ile Olugbade in Oja Oba, in Ibadan South East, where my traditional home belongs. So, by Friday, 100 solar-powered streetlights will be given to you for distribution across the local government area,” he said.
True to his word, the 100 solar-powered streetlights have now been delivered for onward distribution to communities within the local government.
The intervention is part of Sanusi’s broader community-focused initiatives aimed at supporting grassroots development, improving public infrastructure and contributing to safer and better-lit communities.
Speaking on the political landscape ahead of the 2027 general elections, Sanusi urged APC leaders and stakeholders in Ibadan South East and across Oyo State to prioritise unity, discipline and reconciliation.
He advised party members to avoid actions that could create unnecessary divisions, particularly during the party’s primary processes.
Sanusi urged all stakeholders to support and work with whoever emerges through the party’s legitimate primary process, stressing that the collective interest of the party should remain paramount.
He further called on APC members and supporters to mobilise behind President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Senator Sharafadeen Alli, Hon. Remi Oseni and other party candidates ahead of the 2027 elections.
According to him, party members should be prepared to put personal differences aside after the emergence of candidates and work collectively towards the success of the party.
He emphasised that unity, dialogue and mutual respect would be essential to building a stronger political structure capable of delivering effective representation and development at the grassroots.
The delivery of the 100 solar-powered streetlights underscores Sanusi’s emphasis on translating commitments into tangible community interventions, particularly in areas with direct impact on residents’ daily lives.
