Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo state is playing a political Chess game, using unsuspecting followers as pawns. If, in the unlikely events that he wins the game, only three people would benefit and they are, Bimbo Adekanmbi, Seye Famojuro and himself.
Unfortunately, I see no path to victory. It’s a long, harrowing and painful journey to perdition. I have been sounding a note of warning to those who chose to follow Governor Seyi Makinde about, like blindfolded animals, but, many of them have been hypnotized.
Occasionally, the rain still falls and even, Governor Seyi Makinde himself is carried away, still believing in the efficacy of the rain drops. A few days ago in Abuja, while opening his campaign office, it rained and I could hear the Governor testifying to the efficacy of the rain drops.

“Don’t mind the rain,” he said. ” Even in Oyo, they asked for Omi-Tuntun”. Only the deep could understand the weight of those otherwise harmless statement. It carries heavy weights.
After listening to him, I thought within myself, does this man even know what the Elders meant when they said that the okro could only draw when it is sliced in commensurate water? ( Omi to ba mo niwon la nre ila si).
They also said that while your charms may work in the days of hardship, only your head, ( destiny), works for you every day. ( Oogun lo ni ojo kan iponju, Ori eni lo ni ojo gbogbo).
We will all be here to witness how far the rain drops will carry the rain master. We will see, if the rain drops will carry him beyond his destiny.
Like I said, Governor Makinde is playing games with the hopes and aspirations of his followers.
Unfortunately, with due respect to them, most of the followers couldn’t see beyond their noses.
Albeit, many of them are just tagging on, enjoying the crumbs that fell from high table where Governor Seyi Makinde, Seye Famojuro and Bimbo Adekanmbi are comfortably seated, enjoying the main meals.
Yesterday, I saw a video of Bimbo Adekanmbi where he was saying, he is into the business of selling land. “Ile lawa nta o”.
I couldn’t help but to wonder, what would become of the remaining assets of Oyo state if this land vendor becomes the Governor of Oyo state. Could it be that there is a connection between him, the Governor and Seye Famojuro with regards to the numerous lands being sold by Seyi Makinde?
I definitely will work on it and provide the public with the results of my findings. ( A nii bo sowo alagbeda).
Someone asked me, why would Governor Makinde go this far if he is not genuinely contesting for the presidency of Nigeria?
I told him that inside of him, Governor Seyi Makinde would definitely want to be the president of Nigeria. I told him that there is a supernatural force which could drive him towards such a wishful thinking.
On the other hand, a small part of his consciousness would still be telling him that the dream is too tall and that is where the game playing became part of the plan.
Governor Makinde presently have concerns on two fronts; his political opponents must not take Oyo from him and that is the primary concern.
The other concern is to try and see if the gambit at the Federal level could lead to the emergence of a president other than Tinubu, even, if it’s not going to be himself.
Unfortunately for him, he could, perhaps have been successful with his first wish and be safe, even, if Tinubu is re-elected, had it been he knew his place.
Immediately he parted ways with former Governor Nyesom Wike, he not only became a political orphan, he also became an endangered specie.
Wike is the connection between him and the higher authorities but, trust Governor Seyi Makinde, he doesn’t know how to stay humble. Wherever he is, he must be the head. He must be the face.
Yesterday, at a radio station in Ibadan, we discussed Bimbo Adekanmbi as Governor Seyi Makinde’s anointed gubernatorial candidate.
I told the anchor of the program that Bimbo’s candidacy is not only an indictment on Governor Seyi Makinde, it is also a vote of no confidence on those who have been working with the Governor for the past seven years plus.
Sadly, Governor Seyi Makinde doesn’t care about how those who had been with him for those years would feel concerning the rejection. It’s a game.
Except for the Senatorial Candidate for the Oyo South Senatorial District, the remaining two Senatorial Candidates are outsiders.
Peller was a member of the House of Representatives in the All Progressives Congress, APC and the other gentleman, Ajadi, was a gubernatorial candidate in Ogun state in 2023.
The Deputy Governorship candidate, Open Salawu, was a Special Assistant, or was he an Adviser, under the late former Governor Abiola Ajimobi.
Even, my Aburo, the Speaker, who wanted to be Governor and I thought I heard his supporters said that he was anointed for the gubernatorial race, could not secure a ticket for the House of Representatives for Ibarapa East/Ido Federal Constituency.
He had to be contented with a return ticket to the House of Assembly. It’s all part of the game.
There is a vibrant young man in Oke-Ogun. Beulah. Many believed that if he could not get the nod to contest for Governorship, he was at least good to be nominated for the Deputy Governorship slot but it was never to be.
Governor Makinde and Seye Famojuro had settled for Christian successor and as a result of that, there was no place for Beulah Adeoye on the Chess Board.
The gentleman is now a senatorial candidate under the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.
The whole idea of conducting a local government elections in December of this year is part of the game.
Many of those who could not secure tickets for the House of Representatives and House of Assembly were pacified with tickets for Chairmanship and Vice Chairmanship tickets.
If you collect biscuits from a baby, you must at least give the baby sweets to pacify him.
If he had not come up with the idea of conducting the Local Government election in December, the Allied People’s Movement, APM would be half empty by now, but, I wonder why those who collected those tickets for the Chairmanship slots didn’t see through the deceitful script.
Where is the assurance in the whole thing?
It’s a risky gamble and I kept saying it.
Politicians, they say, are incurable optimists, but they never said they are incapable of reasoning.
Assuming the courts give orders that the election should not be held in December, what would be the gains of those who were pacified with the Local Government Chairmanship tickets?
I know that Governor Seyi Makinde is a very stubborn man. He, himself publicly admitted to his stubbornness.
I know that he doesn’t respect the judgments of Courts.
He could go ahead with the conduct of the election and could even ensure that the winners were sworn in before May 29, 2027 but, if the APM loses the Gubernatorial election next year, what will stop the incoming Governor from sacking the Chairmen on his first day in office?
I have kept wondering, why would anyone allow himself to be tossed around like a pawn on a Chess Board?
Why would anyone allow himself to be an instrument in a political Chess game?
Governor Makinde is fighting a battle for survival.
In this regard, only Seye Famojuro matters to him.
Even, Bimbo Adekanmbi is secondary. He is only required for a purpose. That is all.
The relationship between the duo of Makinde and Seye Famojuro on the one hand and Bimbo Adekanmbi on the other hand, is mutually beneficial.
Apart from the fact that the trio had done a lot of things together for their benefits, Makinde and Seye also thought that Bimbo Adekanmbi would be useful for emptying the APC but, that leg of their calculations is falling like a park of cards.
Yes, they have been able to purchase a few disgruntled fellows and a few individuals with less principles to their side, but the mathematics is not working as planned.
In reality, they have lost far more than they gained and it is because of the same Adekanmbi.
I wrote a piece last week and I asked my friends on the other side to flee when there is still time. I think I have to repeat it here again.
The man they are following about is under illusion. When you are caught in the rain, the rain drops are capable of blinding your vision.
Someone is already being blinded by the rain drops he caused to fall upon himself.
Like the senegal coucal, ( eye elulu), which, whenever it caused the rain to fall, always got beaten by the rain drops, someone is being hampered from seeing the danger ahead of him.
The question is, must you join him on the road to perdition?
