The Olubadan Palace has said it would neither succumb to blackmail, nor change the principle guiding Ibadan chieftaincy appointment to satisfy any applicant.
Speaking at the installation of 7 Mogajis and 3 Baales at the Olubadan palace, Oke-Aremo today,
Monday,the Balogun of Ibadanland, Oba Tajudeen Ajibola,who counselled the newly appointed chiefs on behalf of Olubadan, Oba Rashidi Adewolu Ladoja stated in a veiled reference to an applicant waging media war that the procedures for appointment,as laid down by Ibadan custom and tradition have been strictly followed in the appointments of Mogajis and Baales.
“So, Olubadan does not impose Mogajis or Baales on any family or village settlement. The fact is that some people are neither magnanimous in victory nor gallant in defeat.When we are talking about a family in Ibadanland with respect to chieftaincy appointments, we are referring to extended family comprising branches, not a nuclear family consisting of a man, his wife and biological children.The Olufadejin family compound, Alekuso, Ibadan consists of Adeojo, Amzat, Busari etc.
“What this means is that any male descendant in any of the family branches can produce Mogaji.It is not an exclusive preserve of any family branch.
A statement by Olubadan Media Aide, Adeola Oloko quoted Oba Ajibola as saying that if two people from the same family are engaged in a tussle,only one person would win.
Therefore, Chief Omosanjo Fatai Amzat Adegoke is the new mogaji of Olufadejin compound, Alekuso, Ibadan, adding that all family members should join hands with him.

The installation ceremony which was presided over by the Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Rashidi Adewolu Ladoja had in attendance members of Olubadan-in-council such as the Balogun of Ibadan,Oba Tajudeen Ajibola,Otun Olubadan, Oba Eddy Oyewole, Otun Balogun,Oba Kola Adegbola and Osi Olubadan, Oba Abiodun Kola-Daisi.
Other council members present at the installation ceremony held at the palace today are Asipa Olubadan, Oba Hamidu Ajibade, Asipa Balogun,Oba Abiodun Azeez,Ekerin Olubadan, Oba Bayo Akande, Ekerin Balogun,Oba Mobolaji Adewoyin.
