The National Leadership of Accredited Civil Society Organisations and Community-Based Organisations, under the coordination of CSCHEI — a United Nations-recognised platform promoting accredited CSOs and CBOs in Nigeria — commends His Excellency President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, for appointing a seasoned security, intelligence, and diplomatic leader as Nigeria’s Ambassador to the United States of America.
The appointment of an envoy with direct experience of the U.S. administrative and diplomatic system is a strategic step toward deepening bilateral relations. Nigeria’s longstanding partnership with the United States has yielded significant benefits across education, health, security, oil and gas, industry, and aviation.
CSCHEI also extends appreciation to the Government of the United States of America for accepting Ambassador Kayode Aree and facilitating the commencement of his diplomatic mission. Our development partner, Africa United Congress USA, has confirmed that the Ambassador’s credentials, professional record, and reputation for integrity position him to advance Nigeria’s interests effectively in Washington.
The official resumption of Ambassador Kayode Aree and his acceptance by President Donald Trump signal a renewed focus on development-oriented diplomacy between both nations. This development is expected to create new opportunities for collaboration between U.S.-based international NGOs, development partners, and accredited CSOs, CBOs, and NGOs in Nigeria.
The global community witnessed the official presentation in the Oval Office at the White House on Thursday, 21 May. Capacity and performance in diplomacy are evident, and the accredited Civil Society and Community-Based Organisations in Nigeria take pride in Ambassador Kayode Aree’s representation of the country.
