The senator representing Ogun West Senatorial District, Solomon Olamilekan Adeola, popularly known as Yayi, has emerged Ogun State APC consensus candidate for the 2027 governorship election in the state.
Ogun State Governor, Mr. Dapo Abiodun made the announcement during a stakeholders caucus meeting, held in Abeokuta.
Yayi was a member of Lagos State House of Assembly, Alimosho II between 2003 – 2011, House of Representatives between 2011 – 2015 House of Representatives, Alimosho, Senator Lagos West Senatorial District between 2015 – 2023.

Yayi switched his political career to Ogun State in 2023 where he contested and won Ogun West Senatorial seat.
