2027: Gbenga Adegbola Remains In APC, Describes Defection Story To NDC False, Unfounded

A leading gubernatorial aspirant in Oyo State ahead of the 2027 general elections, Rtd Colonel Gbenga Adegbola has said he remains a committed member of the All Progressives Congress, APC urging party members and his teeming supporters to discard defection rumour to the Nigeria Democratic Congress, NDC.

Col. Adegbola made the statement through one of his Media Aides, Mr. Adebiyi Lawrence after a viral Facebook Post alleging that the Oke-Ogun born politician has defected to the NDC to pursue his gubernatorial ambition in Oyo State.

Adebiyi in the press statement made available to journalists said that the entire story about his principal’s defection is entirely false, unfounded and a deliberate attempt by political detractors to sow the seed of confusion in Oyo APC, among his supporters and good people of Oyo State.

Adebiyi reiterated that Rtd Colonel Adegbola remains a committed and loyal member of APC, steadfast in his resolve to pursue his gubernatorial ambition on the platform of APC.

“My principal never contemplated, discussed or initiated any movement to join NDC, such fabrications exist only in the imagination of those threatened by his growing acceptance and credibility for Oyo State number one seat”.

Adebiyi emphasized that his principal remains focused on engaging with the people, articulating his vision and building a movement anchored on integrity, development and inclusive governance. He said that Rtd Colonel Adegbola is not distracted by cheap propaganda or desperate political tactics aimed at derailing his mission.
