The Concerned Members of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP, UK chapter have expressed deep concern and disappointment in the role of the party’s elected, appointee, party excos, leaders over the conduct of Congress by Wike’s PDP faction in Ido ward 7 Oyo State.
A statement made available to FRESHPAGE.COM.NG issued and signed by the convener and secretary; Samson Adegboyega and Jasper Fowokanmi of the Concerned PDP questioned the role of entire PDP officials from leaders, party executives and appointees in Ward 7 of Ido LGA for the successful conduct of the parallel Congress.
The group raised serious allegations that integrity and loyalty of entire party officials in the Ward 7 to Governor Seyi Makinde where elected, appointee, hailed from is questionable.
The group said the action of the PDP officials in Ward 7 Ido LGA is not only unfortunate but also constitute a serious breach of party discipline, loyalty and the guiding principles that bind members of the PDP together.
“As a responsible political party committed to internal democracy, unity, and respect for due process, the PDP has clear provisions regarding how Congresses and other official activities are to be conducted. Any Congress organised outside the framework approved by the national leadership of the party is null, void, and incapable of producing a legitimate outcome.

“The involvement of high ranking party official such as elected, appointee, party excos, leaders of Ido LGA from Ward 7 is such fun unauthorised exercise raises serious questions about commitment to party unity and adherence to the constitution of the PDP.
“We therefore call on the leadership of the People’s Democratic Party at the appropriate levels to urgently investigate this development and take the necessary disciplinary measures in line with the party’s constitution. No member, regardless of position, should be allowed to act in ways that threaten the stability and credibility of the party”.
The Concerned PDP urged all loyal members and stakeholders across Oyo State to remain calm and steadfast while reaffirming loyalty to the leadership of the party.
