Today, I celebrate a mentor, a father-figure, Mr Olatunji Oladejo not just for the remarkable work he is doing, but for the impact he has made on people like me who have had the privilege of learning under his guidance for over a decade.

Mr. Olatunji Oladejo

Right from my 200-level days in UI, when our path crossed, Oga has been intentional about my growth. He sees  potential in everyone around him. His style of correction should be adopted by any administrator that wants people under him to grow.

Mr Oladejo is a distinguished son of Ibadanland from Oje-Igosun, he has consistently shown that communication is not just about speaking and writing well, but about speaking and writing with purpose, clarity, and integrity. Mr. Oladejo’s words carry weight, his ideas inspire action, and his writing continues to shape minds and influence conversations across different spaces.

As your mentee, I can confidently say that your mentorship has been one of the most valuable gifts I have received. You have taught me how to think deeper, write better, and communicate in a way that connects with people. You have corrected me with patience, encouraged me with sincerity, and challenged me to always aim for excellence.

Your dedication to truth, professionalism, and creativity is admirable. You have built a legacy through your work, and you continue to raise the bar for anyone who wants to be taken seriously in the communication and writing profession.

Mr Oladejo, pioneer Director, Directorate of Public Communication, University of Ibadan served three Vice-Chancellors of the prestigious of the institution meritoriously.

Mr. Oladejo served as National Public Relations of Central Council of Ìbàdàn Indigenes, Secretary, Coronation Committee of 44th Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Rashidi Adewolu Ladoja ARUSA I and currently serving as the Chairman, The Progressive Forum Ibadan, a media wing of the Central Council of Ìbàdàn Indigenes.

On this special day, I pray that your new year brings you greater achievements, renewed strength, divine wisdom, and abundant joy. May your pen never run dry, and may your influence continue to grow.
