Chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and Senator representing Oyo North Senatorial District, Dr. AbdulFatai Buhari, has intensified consultations toward his 2027 governorship ambition with a strategic meeting involving former local government councilors, supervisory councilors, secretaries, and chiefs of staff from across Oyo North.

The meeting, held in Iseyin, Oyo State, brought together former local government officials who served during past administrations, as Senator Buhari appreciated them for honoring his invitation and listening to his message of unity and renewed commitment to the party’s progress.

Addressing the gathering, Senator Buhari described the engagement as a “family meeting,” emphasizing that his decision to run for the governorship of Oyo State was borne out of competence and capacity rather than entitlement.

“I’m here this afternoon to have a family meeting with my people as we have on numerous occasions related and engaged together, but not on a gubernatorial ambition. This is why I am here to inform you of my intention to run for the governorship election in 2027,” he said.

“My ambition is not about entitlement; it is about my capacity to deliver modern governance and ensure the dividends of democracy reach our people.”
